CSB Product Portfolio and Technology Roadmap Overview
Since its establishment in 1986, CSB Battery Technologies Inc. has long focused on the R&D and manufacturing of valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries, with products sold in more than 100 countries and regions. Its product portfolio is built around VRLA-AGM technology, with 142 models in production covering 20 series, voltages spanning 2V cells, 6V, 12V and 512V lithium battery cabinets, capacity types covering 4.5Ah to 1700Ah, and power types covering 18W to 9000W (5–15 minute rate), meeting multi-level needs from daily standby to high-power short-duration discharge.
In terms of technology roadmap, CSB's VRLA design uses absorbed glass mat (AGM) separators to achieve efficient gas recombination, with a recombination rate of up to 99%, combined with a pure lead grid structure and proprietary formulations, offering maintenance-free, rechargeable and leak-proof characteristics. Model documentation cites standards including IEC 61056-1/2:2012, IEC 60896-21/22:2004, IEC 60254-1:2005, IEC 60254-2:2008, IEC 61427 and UL1989 Recognized (MH14533), while Calor XHT-FT additionally cites UL 1973 Recognized (MH66728). Design life is stated under float standby at 25°C, covering 5 to 20 years, with some series citing Eurobat (20°C) classifications.
For data center UPS, CSB offers multiple product lines: the HR series is a high-rate discharge pure lead battery for smaller-output UPS and fast-discharge backup; the HRL series is a long-life high-rate pure lead battery for high-power data centers and UPS loads; XHRL and its front-terminal version XHRL-FT further enhance high-rate output; XPL and XPL-FT address large-capacity pure lead needs for long-duration standby; the UPS series is a high-power pure lead battery built specifically for uninterruptible power supplies; the XHT series addresses mission-critical power supply in harsh environments. The PowerBox series, in the form of a 512V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery cabinet, provides a solution with a maximum continuous discharge power of 300kW per rack, a nominal capacity of 140Ah and a nominal energy of 71.68kWh, with communication supporting RS485, CAN, Ethernet and dry contacts.
In the telecom field, the MSJ, MSV and MU series are 2V large-capacity long-life VRLA-AGM batteries, among which MSJ can provide float standby service of up to 20 years, and MU further expands capacity on the basis of MSV/MSJ; the TPL series is a front-terminal long-life pure lead battery for multi-hour backup in broadband applications; the XTV series addresses indoor and outdoor telecom broadband scenarios. For renewable energy, the RE series is a pure lead carbon high-capacity battery with excellent cycle life and long service life, available in 2V and 2V modular forms; XTV-WT addresses the harsh environments of wind power generation. General-purpose applications are covered by the GP series for security, emergency lighting and medical equipment, with the GPL series as its extended-life version. For electric mobility, the EVX series is a durable deep-cycle pure lead battery, and the EVH series improves cycle life and durability on the basis of EVX.
Overall, CSB uses VRLA-AGM as its technology foundation and, through differentiated routes such as pure lead grids, front-terminal structures, high-temperature designs and lithium solutions, forms a product matrix covering data center UPS, telecom, renewable energy, general-purpose and electric mobility. Charge voltage specifications are stated at 25°C per battery or per cell, for example, 12V battery float charge 13.5-13.8 Vdc, equalizing charge 14.4-15.0 Vdc; temperature range is nominal 25°C, discharge -15°C~50°C (some series -25°C~50°C), charge and storage -15°C~40°C, providing clear reference for selection and operation across different scenarios.
