Product details
The CSB GP12400 belongs to the GP series of general purpose valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries, available in 6V and 12V top terminal VRLA-AGM constructions. Its nominal voltage is 12 Vdc, and its nominal capacity is 40 Ah at 25°C and 1.75 VPC (20-hour rate); at the 8-hour rate and 1.75 VPC the capacity is 43.6 Ah, at the 20-hour rate and 1.75 VPC it is 48.0 Ah, and at the 8-hour rate and 1.80 VPC it is 43.0 Ah. The battery's maximum charging current is 12.0 A, maximum discharge current is 400 A, short-circuit current is 1012 A, and internal resistance is 8.5 mΩ.
This model uses a valve-regulated sealed lead-acid design with absorbed glass mat technology, achieving gas recombination efficiency of up to 99%, and is a maintenance-free battery. Its terminal is an I2 threaded lead alloy terminal that accepts an M6 bolt, with terminal torque of 51.7±10.3 Kgf∙cm, 44.9±9.0 Lbf∙in or 5.10±1.0 N∙m. The case material is ABS (UL 94-HB), and a flame-retardant 94-V0 version can also be supplied on request. External dimensions are length 197.0±2.0 mm, width 165.0±2.0 mm, height 170.4±2.0 mm, and weight approximately 12.92 kg.
For charging, at 25°C the float charge voltage is 13.5 to 13.8 Vdc/battery, and the equalizing charge voltage is 14.4 to 15.0 Vdc/battery. For operating temperature, the nominal temperature is 25°C, the discharge temperature range is -15°C to 50°C, and the charging and storage temperature range is -15°C to 40°C. For self-discharge, after 90 days of storage at 25°C the remaining capacity is greater than 90%, and it can be stored for up to 6 months; a full charge is required before use, and if the storage temperature is above 25°C it should be charged sooner.
This battery is designed for float standby power applications, with a design life of up to 5 years in standby service at 25°C, and 3 to 5 years at 20°C under the Eurobat standard. The product is manufactured in accordance with IEC 61056-1/2:2012 and is recognized under UL1989 (MH14533). The GP series is officially positioned as a general purpose VRLA battery series, suitable for a variety of applications such as security, emergency lighting and medical equipment.
Overall, the GP12400 combines 12V voltage, 40Ah nominal capacity and a maintenance-free AGM construction, together with clearly defined float and equalizing charge voltage ranges, a wide operating temperature range and a standard terminal design, making it suitable for use as a general purpose standby power source. Its pure lead construction and proprietary element formulation, as well as its manufacturing basis in compliance with relevant IEC and UL standards, provide a reference technical foundation for float standby applications.
